QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE - Energy

My question is to the Prime Minister. Before the election, the Prime Minister promised a $275 drop in power bills. That didn't work, so he passed laws on 12 December 2022 that he promised will actually be deflationary by reducing peoples' power bills next year. Where are the Australians who have had a reduction in their power bills? Doesn't this show just how out of touch the Prime Minister is with ordinary Australians?

BILLS - Referendum (Machinery Provisions) Amendment Bill 2022 - Second Reading

I spoke on the Referendum (Machinery Provisions) Amendment Bill 2022. Most of this is noncontroversial and seeks merely to bring the operation of the proposed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to parliament referendum into line with the Commonwealth Electoral Act. QUESTIONS WITHOUT NOTICE - Workplace Relations

My question is to the Minister for Small Business. I refer to page 52 of the regulation impact statement from the fair work amendment bill. In calculating the cost of multiemployer bargaining, the report states, '$273,700 divided by 15.2 is $12,878 per business.' Is the minister aware that that figure divided by 15.2 actually equals $18,006? Or is this a mistake, with the government deliberately trying to hide the significant cost which businesses are set to pay?

The appropriation bills of 2022-23 reflect all of the missed opportunities of the government's recent budget, missed opportunities for Australian families, missed opportunities for Australian businesses and missed opportunities for many of those who live within my electorate of Hughes.

ADJOURNMENT - Australian Defence Force

Last Friday I had the privilege and honour of attending Holsworthy military barracks in my electorate to witness officers and soldiers of the Special Operations Engineer Regiment and the 1st and 2nd commando regiments receiving their berets. I thank my colleague and friend the member for Menzies, who attended with me, and I acknowledge his service with Special Operations Command.
