Engadine Rural Fire Brigade Open Day

Great to meet the crew at NSW RFS - Engadine Brigade at their Open Day today. As we approach the warmer days of spring and summer, and the 2022/23 Fire Season begins, Engadine Rural Fire Brigade held a brigade open day for the NSW Rural Fire Service’s ‘Get Ready Weekend’.

The purpose of this event is to engage with the local community and help raise awareness of their fire and home safety, as well as to help launch initiatives such as the National Fire Danger Rating System. Engadine RFS were joined by the NSW Ambulance Service, and the NSW State Emergency Service for this event, making it a true community safety engagement event. This is the first time in nearly three years that we have been able to carry this out in person, and we are excited to welcome our community through our doors once again, after several tough years of fires, viruses, and floods.

The categories of severity of fires have changed in recent years. The scale shows the potential severity of a bush fire should it occur.

As we are now approaching bush fire season, the NSW RFS is urging everyone to ensure that they have a bush fire plan.  “Planning to plan is not a plan”.
