Waratah Park Stage 2 Upgrade

Help fund the Waratah Park Stage 2 upgrade!

Currently located next to the leisure centre, the Waratah Park, Sutherland sporting hub is home to tennis courts, an athletics field, baseball diamonds, sporting fields and cycling and mountain bike tracks. Waratah Park forms part of the historic link between the Sutherland CBD and the Royal National Park.

Recently completed improvements to Waratah Park have been welcomed by the community and include upgraded parking, perimeter fencing, pathways and lighting.

The full upgrade planned under the Waratah Park Masterplan is a 22 hectare sports precinct, environmental corridor and recreation reserve which includes Sutherland Leisure Centre and the basketball stadium.

Funding is required for the continuation of the Waratah Park Masterplan, including:

  • the formation of a regional standard playing surface providing a flexible, regional level recreation space;

  • new sports lighting;

  • improved spectator amenities;

  • an extensive shared path recreation network; and

  • consolidated, inclusive multi-purpose community buildings.

Everyone in our local community deserves the opportunity to use public spaces. That is why I am fighting for further upgrades to Waratah Park to provide modern, safe and accessible facilities to enable our community to be leaders in participation and performance.

With enough community support, we will be able to show the Albanese Labor Government that this is a much-needed project.
