Law Enforcement
The federal government's first priority must always be to keep its citizens, our community, safe; to keep our streets safe and our borders secure. This government, led by the Prime Minister, with home affairs minister, Minister O'Neil; and immigration minister, Minister Giles, has failed on this most important priority.
Sport
Sport is ingrained in our national identity. In Australia, it's part of our DNA, connecting communities, fostering camaraderie and promoting physical and mental wellbeing. From grassroots levels to elite competition, sport unites us, transcending boundaries of age, ethnicity and social status.
Housing
'This government's failed policies creating a housing crisis for Australians', to this place today. Since this government was elected, the problem of housing affordability in this country has grown to the point that it is now beyond a crisis, and this is because of many of the policies that this government has introduced.
Questions Without Notice - Energy
My question is to the Minister for Climate Change and Energy. There are 64,000 households that are on electricity hardship in New South Wales. New South Wales households on hardship have increased by 82 per cent under Labor's watch. That's nearly 366 households added to electricity hardship in New South Wales every week under Labor.
International Women's Day
I rise to speak on this motion regarding International Women's Day, which is celebrated annually on 8 March. I thank the member for Newcastle for bringing this motion to the House and for drawing attention to the very important day that is 8 March each year.
Services Australia
I rise to speak on this motion and thank the member for Bradfield for again bringing this important matter about the performance of Services Australia to the attention of the House. In a cost-of-living crisis, more and more Australians are turning to Services Australia. However, unfortunately, while those working at Services Australia are doing the best that they can under the stewardship of the minister, Minister Shorten, the system is struggling and, in many cases, failing Australians.
Loftus Volunteer Bushfire Brigade: 70th Anniversary
I attended the 70th anniversary of the Loftus Volunteer Bushfire Brigade, a steadfast pillar of support for our local community. Down in my part of the world we live in the best part of the best country in the world, but the land of droughts and flooding rains takes its toll. That's why the Loftus Volunteer Bushfire Brigade is such an important part of our local community.
Administrative Review Tribunal Bill 2023
I rise to speak on the Administrative Review Tribunal Bill 2023 and the Administrative Review Tribunal (Consequential and Transitional Provisions No. 1) Bill 2023. At the outset, I'll say: these bills are now the subject of a Senate committee review, and, in the circumstances, it would be most appropriate that they are dealt with following the Senate's consideration.
Endometriosis Awareness Month
Endometriosis is a matter of profound importance to women's health and wellbeing. It's a condition where tissue similar to the endometrium, or lining of the uterus, grows outside of the uterus. It's often under-recognised and not diagnosed. It's a chronic condition that affects a staggering one in nine women in Australia and approximately 200 million women worldwide.
Hughes Electorate International Women's Day Awards
On 8 March, the women of Hughes came together to celebrate International Women's Day at the beautiful Como Hotel, and I take this opportunity now to mention all of the fabulous winners of the Hughes woman of the year awards for 2024.
Health Care: Sleep
Sleep health should be recognised for its importance in preventive health and wellbeing alongside other things such as fitness and nutrition.

Cost-of-Living | One Meal
The cost of living is biting hard in my electorate of Hughes, as it is throughout Australia. I'm absolutely certain about this. I recently conducted an online survey throughout my electorate about the cost of living, I'm going to share with you what that revealed. Eighty-eight per cent of my electorate are finding it harder than normal to…

I rise to speak on the Help to Buy Bill 2023. I've been fortunate to be in this chamber to hear my friend the member for Robertson, who spoke eloquently about the benefits of home ownership. I completely agree with the benefits he articulated. However…
